Tõnu Pullerits

Tõnu Pullerits

Tõnu Pullerits was born in 1962 in Estonia. He graduated from Tartu University as a solid state physicist in 1986 and obtained his Ph.D. in 1991 with Arvi Freiberg. He then joined the Department of Biophysics at the Free University of Amsterdam as an EMBO postdoctoral fellow with Rienk van Grondelle. After that, he was a postdoctoral fellow with Villy Sundström at Umeå University. In 1994, he moved to Lund University where he currently is a professor of Chemical Physics.

His scientific interests relate to ultrafast transfer processes in complex molecular systems. Recently he has started to use coherent multidimensional spectroscopy for investigations of interaction between electronic and nuclear degrees of freedom.
