5th International Conference on Advanced Vibrational Spectroscopy

Peter Vandenabeele

Peter Vandenabeele

Peter Vandenabeele (1974), obtained his PhD in Analytical Chemistry at Ghent University (Belgium), where he applied total-reflection X-ray fluorescence (TXRF) and Raman spectroscopy for the investigation of painted art objects. During his post-doctoral career he established the Raman research group, where this technique was used in microbiology (bacteria and fungi), pharmaceutical analysis, geology, and archaeometry. Since 2007, he is research professor in archaeometry, at the department of archaeology of Ghent University. He published over 50 research papers on Raman spectroscopy and gave more than 100 presentations on international conferences.
