Research Area

My main area of current research interest is vibrational spectroscopy of tissues, cells and biomolecules. This research applies multivariate statistical methods, such as hierarchical cluster analysis and principal component analysis (PCA), to analyse 2 and 3 dimensional FT-IR spectroscopic micro images. I also have interest in Micro-Raman characterisation of cells and tissues. I also undertake some research on charge transport and charge trapping phenomena in polymeric insulation materials and CCD photometry of short-period variable stars with the School of Physics and Materials Engineering
