Research Area

Applying mid-infrared and Raman spectroscopy, together with chemometrics data analysis, for biotechnological applications. In particularly, the coupling of flow analysis techniques, such as Sequential Injection Analysis (SIA), for the on-line quantitative monitoring of fermentations such as Poly (B-hydroxybutyrate) (PHB) and acetone-butanol-ethanol (ABE), with the aim of applying these techniques to other fermentations and industrial processes.

Thesis title:

Biotechnological applications of infrared and Raman spectroscopy.
