Summary
A visiting academic from Bennington College, Vermont, USA.
Research Interests
- Electrochemistry of Organometallic Compounds
- Mechanisms of Coupled Chemical Reactions
- Spectroelectrochemistry (UV, Vis, IR)
- FT Voltammetry
My research has focused on the reactivity of electrochemically generated organometallic species. Employing a variety of techniques, including cyclic voltammetry, chronocoulometry, and spectroelectrochemical methods, my work is aimed at elucidating the mechanistic pathways followed by highly reactive electron-deficient complexes. Of particular interest recently have been the oxidation products of luminescent d6 transition metals, compounds of widespread interest for energy conversion, nanotechnological, and information storage applications, with the aim of developing greater understanding of the oxidizing chemistry of MLCT excited states.
