Opportunities in Professor Alan Bond's Research Group

newlab

Everyone (from undergraduate student to Professor) who wishes to explore the subtleties of modern electrochemistry and who wants to work with Professor Bond should not hesitate to contacting Professor Bond. His research group is very international, usually more than half come from overseas. Each nationality brings its own spirit to the group and is more than welcomed. (NB: Upon arrival the usual gifts have to be delivered to the group: Your national dessert and your national drink (no soft drinks, please!). Please, also consider the size of the group!)

Professor Bond's major research interests involve the development and application of modern electroanalytical techniques. These techniques can be applied in a large area of chemistry, from environmental analytical chemistry to inorganic solid state chemistry. Hence, electrochemistry can be seen as a multi disciplinary science which also requires a multi disciplinary knowledge.

People who work with Professor Bond come from all over the world, from different institutions and have very diverse backgrounds: i.e. Organic synthetic chemistry, analytical chemistry, inorganic chemistry, physics, theoretical chemistry, etc. Projects are often carried out in cooperation with research groups within the department as well as with research groups from other universities, national and international.

New members are not necessarily required to be experts in electrochemistry, however, a minimal background experience should be available in that field and a definite requirement is the desire to learn and specialize in electrochemistry.
