Dr Janet Scott - Deputy Director

PhD and BSc (Hons) (Chemistry) University of Cape Town, S. Africa, BSc (Chemistry and Applied Chemistry), University of Natal (Durban).
Janet has research interests in many areas of Green Chemistry and most projects are in collaboration with researchers with diverse interests both in Australia and overseas. Her areas of expertise include solvent-free reactions; host-guest inclusion compounds (supramolecular chemistry); ionic liquids; and greener methods of organic synthesis. Dr Scott also has an interest in developing new teaching materials and courses in Green Chemistry at all levels, from secondary school to postgraduate.
Janet has been a member of the Editorial Board for 'Green Chemistry' (RSC publication), and for the ''Australian Journal of Education in Chemistry'. She is a currently a committee member of the Chemistry and the Environment Division of IUPAC
