Monash University Honours and Jubilee Scholarship

The Monash University Honours Scholarship was introduced to encourage high achieving undergraduate students to continue into research programs. The Monash University Jubilee Honours Scholarship was introduced to acknowledge the occasion of the 50th anniversary of Monash University and to encourage high-achieving undergraduate students to continue into research programs.

To be eligible, applicants must be:

  • an Australian or New Zealand citizen or holder of an Australian humanitarian visa or Australian permanent resident visa, and
  • intending to enrol as a full-time student in an honours program and in a Commonwealth-Supported Place at a Monash campus in Australia.

Selection criteria

These scholarships will be available to students who have completed their undergraduate degree at Monash University or another university. Scholarships will be awarded to the highest achieving students who receive a minimum grade average of 80% in previous tertiary studies.

Value

Scholarships are valued at $3,000 per 48 credit points of study. Jubilee Scholarships are valued at $5,000 per 48 credit points. These scholarships cannot be deferred.

John Swan Honours Scholarships

The John Swan Honours Scholarship was introduced to encourage high achieving undergraduate students to continue into chemistry research programs.

To be eligible, applicants must be enrolled as a full-time student in an honours program within the School of Chemistry as of 31 March 2008.

Selection criteria

The John Swan honours scholarships are awarded for academic excellence.  More than one is normally awarded.  The Scholarships are valued at up to $5,000.

Applications

Applications for the John Swan Scholarships are in the form of a letter of application (addressed to Prof SJ Langford) and an up-to-date CV (including academic transcript). Please include information on academic performance (awards etc), previous research experience and extracurricular activities (if applicable).
