Summary
Huy obtained his Bachelor of Medicinal Chemistry (Honours) from Monash University, Parkville campus, under the supervision of Dr David Chalmers in 2007, investigating biological systems based on computational modelling techniques. Joined the MacFarlane group at Monash University in August 2008 under the supervision of Prof. Doug MacFarlane and Dr. Katya Izgorodina Pas.
A previous member of the group as a 3rd year undergraduate student back in 2006, he is presently investigating biopharmaceutical applications for ionic liquids. His goal is to incorporate ionic liquids to achieve long term stability for selective protein based systems, thereby acting as suitable protein stabilizing solvents.
Research Interests
- Biopharmaceutical Applications for Ionic Liquids
- Computational Modelling of Ionic Liquids
- Synthesis of Ionic Liquids with Osmolytic Properties
